Innovating new twists to proven favorites is the path to successful menus in 2022. Our Texas Pete® Test Kitchen has been on a “heat seeking” mission to create innovative ideas that are as simple as a few easy-to-prep ingredients to create sure fire winners for your menu. Each month, we will be sharing one or two new ideas built for today’s challenges.
Our criteria:
- 1The idea has less than 5 ingredients! We know that staffing kitchens and ingredient shortages are making it tough for an operator. Thus, the recipe ideas that we will share have fewer common ingredients that are easy and affordable to source.
- 2The ideas riff on a known winner. We know operators will value innovation that is focused on proven winning menu items. Adding some thoughtful flair to proven favorites can ensure that there will be an increase to your bottom line by the end of the year.
- 3It’s has to travel well. Certainly, for QSR operators, transportability is always an important factor along with the increase in demand for takeout and delivery due to the pandemic. Therefore, our menu ideas are built for the road.
- 4It has to make prep in the kitchen easy, with less training needed. We know that labor is hard to come by and training new kitchen staff is costly and time consuming. That’s why our “simple as” ideas are quick and easy to prepare to make your life easier and help reduce service times in your kitchens.
We are initiating our “simple as” series with two extraordinarily delicious ideas within this newsletter. Here is an example of what’s in store. In March, our trendworthy inspiration is to help you capture the still crazy high demand for anything “Nashville Hot” (up 33% in the past year and up 368% in the past four years*).
