There’s a lot to love about the Hot Honey Chicken + Hummus Grilled Protein Bowl at fast-casual Original ChopShop. “It’s the perfect mash-up of sweet, spicya, creamy and crunchy,” says Kyle Frederick, COO. “It starts with a generous portion of mixed greens lightly tossed in our housemade red wine vinaigrette, which adds a nice zing. Seasoned brown rice accompanies the greens, along with cucumber, tomato and banana pepper. A dollop of hummus adds a creamy texture, standing in as either a healthier salad dressing or an accompanying dip with lightly toasted and seasoned wheat tortilla chips.”

But Frederick zeroes in on a pair of honey and yogurt sauces as the components that lift the flavor experience. “It’s all in the sauce,” he says. “Honey and olive oil steeped with spices, garlic, onions and peppers make for the perfect sweet and spicy combo.” Acknowledging that today’s guests like spicy—within reason—Frederick also cites the cooling effect of a house yogurt sauce along with the hummus. This dish joins a successful lineup featuring “the best of greens, grains and proteins with a can’t-say-no sauce,” he says. “It’s bright, flavorful and leaves you feeling good.”
